When Jonathan Peters made Las Vegas his adopted home several years ago, little did he know that
he would develop a deep personal and professional interest in the region’s people and history.
The wide-open spaces and the urban glamour of the city combined to pique the senses of Peters,
who holds a doctorate in American Studies.
Peters is just as comfortable traversing the sparsely populated desert of Southern Nevada as he
was talking with tourists on the Las Vegas Strip. This farranging curiosity is an apt trait for
a man who works as both a writer and adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
